In light of the wonderful *spring* weather we've been experiencing in Baltimore this week, the 6D students played "Sharks and Minnows" with their 9th Age friends on the field.
6D met with the 9A girls last week to make scarecrow glyphs. They had so much fun! Isn't this picture perfect? It really sums up the wonderful collaboration and friendship taking place between both classes.
The 6D students met the 9A girls last week in their 9th Age classroom. The students were introduced and then paired together. 6D had fun learning about their new friends and getting a tour of their classroom! We will spend more time together this year- thank you to our new friends for hosting us!
During the 2010-2011 school year, 6D will be visiting with Miss Preston's 9th Age girl's class. Yesterday we met in 9A for the first time- we were looking forward to this all day! Once we arrived, we were paired up with a 9A girl and took a tour of their classroom. We are already anticipating our next group activity with 9th Age.
6D and 9B played charades last week! Some words acted out included: Batman, cat, dog, and SpongeBob Squarepants. In early March we will hang out again to make friendship bracelets!

Our friends in 9B read their favorite holiday books to 6D yesterday! All books had wonderful pictures- some of which we were already familiar with. It was a treat to share this time with the girls- we look forward to seeing them again in January!
This month we worked with the 9th Age girls to make four lasagne casseroles for Paul's Place. We wore gloves to protect our hands and keep germs at bay. We liked mixing together the sauce and ricotta cheese! Working together to help others makes us feel good! Nice job, 6D and 9B!
This past week Mrs. Williams' 9B class and 6D got together for the first time. We decided to meet at Molly's Garden, located near the Middle School. It was such a beautiful afternoon! The 9th Age and 6D will be meeting periodically throughout the year. It was really fun to meet new friends, especially the bigger kids at Calvert! On this visit, we were partnered with a 9th age girl, who interviewed us. This interview helped them learn about us. The 6's were also able to interview the 9's girls. Thank you, Mrs. Williams and 9B for a fabulous first meeting! We look forward to seeing you again in November!
