Fish, Fish, Everywhere!

We visited the National Aquarium in Baltimore this afternoon and had an absolutely fantastic time! The bus ride downtown was filled with giggles and anticipation.
Upon entering, we were greeted by amazing large scale photos of fish,

and other amphibians!

We saw stingrays

and sharks in enormous tanks of water. (Yes, that is indeed a baby off to the side of this picture, and no- it was not harmed by the shark!)
We got really close to some interesting animals, experiencing first-hand what it would be like to live in this magical world,

saw some puffins with Mrs. Miles,

and spent some worthwhile "wet" time with the dolphins at the dolphin show.

Thank you, Calvert, for a totally cool,

eye-opening,

field trip!

6th Age Visits Port Discovery!

Last Friday the 6th Agers went on a field trip to Port Discovery in Baltimore! 6D started the trip by learning how to weave using many different shades of colored construction paper.

Then we went into a diner and learned about different kinds of foods. Afterwards we had tons of time to play in the water area (building pipes and sailing boats), and ran through the large maze in the center of Port Discovery.

We had soo much fun! 6D is looking forward to our next field trip in January to the Aquarium!
